I've been waiting to give a review. I wanted to give the device lots of time to charge before i reviewed it. I installed this on the backyard of my newly purchased home. The first day i let the device get over 8 hours of sunlight to make sure it had plenty of juice when i put it up. Well installation was a breeze but unfortunately, the motion sensor only detects if something is smack dab in the center it's vision field and close to it. I have 2 other solar panel lights with sensors on the front of my house and they can detect motion from the sidewalk and the street ( over 30 ft away ). This barely detects 10 feet away. I had some friends over and we stood in the middle of my backyard right in the field of vision and this turned on once. I was able to "sneak" across my entire backyard and it didn't turn on until i was directly under it. I'm really disappointed-- everything else seemed great about this and it's plenty bright but the sensor just doesn't work well at all. I can't recommend it. I give it 2 stars because it turned on... just barely.I'm not sure what the difference was. To be honest the manufacturer contacted me shortly after the review to offer to correct the mistake or provide a refund. I'm not sure if maybe the device had a smudge or dirt on the sensor and maybe some rain cleared it up. Or maybe the battery was just very low and needed extra time. But the sensor now works much better. The moment i step on to my back porch it turns on and that's about a 15 - 20ft distance from where the light is. Now it's working just as i had hoped.
